Why choose an aramid webbing sling belt?

  • Stronger than polyester. For the same belt width an aramid webbing sling carries more      load, so you can lift the same weight with a narrower and lighter belt — or lift more with the      belt you already use.

  • High temperature resistance. Continuous working temperature of about 200 °C,      against roughly 90 °C for polyester and nylon. Aramid does not melt — it carbonises      above about 400 °C — and it is inherently flame retardant and self-extinguishing.

  • Cut and abrasion resistant. Aramid stands up to steel plate, castings, scrap and hot      metal far better than polyester or nylon, so the belt lasts longer on the loads that normally destroy      a sling.

  • Soft and pliable. A textile belt with no metal end fittings and no hard spots: it      wraps tight around awkward shapes and it will not scratch, dent or mark machined, painted or polished      surfaces.

  • Low elongation. Aramid has a high modulus, so the belt stretches very little under      load and keeps the lift tight and predictable.

  • Good chemical resistance. Resistant to most acids, alkalis, oils and solvents, and it      does not rot or lose strength when it gets wet.

  • Traceable and certified. Every belt carries a sewn on label with the working load      limit, length, material and traceability number, and ships with a proof load report.

Construction and design

  • Flat woven webbing sling belt in para-aramid, woven in house on our own shuttle looms.

  • Reinforced eyes, or continuous endless loop, depending on the hitch you use.

  • Reinforced and heat sealed wear points; optional leather, PU or aramid protective sleeve for hot or sharp edges.

  • Soft, pliable and low bulk, so the belt folds into a small package, is easy to carry to the lift point and is easy to inspect.

  • High visibility aramid gold colour with a sewn on capacity label for quick identification on site.

  • Safety factor 7:1 — every belt is proof loaded before it leaves the factory.

Working load limits above 10 t, intermediate capacities and special lengths are made to order.    Belt widths in the table are reference values for aramid flat webbing — tell us the working load    limit, the length and the working temperature and we will confirm the exact width, thickness and mass    per metre for your order. Aramid belts are supplied in natural aramid gold with the capacity on the    sewn on label; if you also need the EN 1492-1 capacity colour scheme, ask us when ordering.

Markings and traceability

Every aramid webbing sling belt carries a sewn on label with the information needed for safe use, for    inspection and for audit:

  • Working load limit in tonnes.

  • Effective length in metres.

  • Material — para-aramid, flame resistant.

  • Safety factor — 7:1.

  • Standard complied with — EN 1492-1.

  • Working temperature range.

  • Manufacturer name, date of manufacture and a unique traceability number.

  • QR code or barcode traceability on request, linked to the test certificate.

Applications for lifting heavy loads

  • Steel mills and foundries — lifting hot billets, ingots, castings and plate where a polyester sling would melt or char.

  • Welding and fabrication shops — weld spatter, hot cut edges and grinding sparks without melting the belt.

  • Aluminium smelters and die casting — hot dies, moulds and molten metal area work.

  • Glass and ceramic plants — hot glass, kiln furniture and abrasive surfaces, with a soft belt that will not scratch the product.

  • Heat treatment and furnace maintenance — handling hot charges, baskets and refractory.

  • Engine, turbine and heavy machinery assembly — precise, low stretch lifts of finished parts that must not be marked.

  • Power station, cement and petrochemical plant maintenance — where heat, abrasion and chemicals rule out polyester.

  • Shipyards and offshore — hot work, sharp edges and a wet environment.

Customisation options

  • Working load limit, belt width and effective length made to your drawing.

  • Reinforced eyes, endless loop or bespoke end configurations.

  • Protective sleeves in leather, PU or aramid for hot, sharp or abrasive edges.

  • Your own colour, printed logo, label layout and customer part numbers.

  • Test certificate and proof load report with every shipment.

Quality control and testing

Aramid webbing is woven, sewn and finished in our own workshop in Taizhou, Jiangsu. Every production    batch is checked for belt width and thickness, weave density, stitch pattern and label content, and    every finished belt is proof loaded before packing. Minimum breaking load is verified on the test bed    and recorded against the belt’s traceability number, so the certificate that ships with the belt    can always be traced back to the batch and the test record.

Frequently asked questions

What is an aramid webbing sling belt?

It is a flat woven lifting sling belt made from para-aramid yarn, the fibre family sold under brand names    such as Kevlar® and Twaron®. It is woven and sewn into a soft, pliable belt with reinforced eyes    or a continuous loop, and it is chosen where a load has to be lifted near heat, flame, hot metal or    sharp edges.

How strong is aramid webbing compared with polyester?

Aramid webbing is stronger than polyester webbing of the same width, so a narrower and lighter aramid    belt can carry the same working load limit. It also has low elongation, which keeps the lift tight and    gives more precise control. Send us the working load limit and we will confirm the belt width for your    lift.

How much heat can an aramid sling belt take?

Aramid is rated for continuous working temperatures of about 200 °C, well above polyester and    nylon at roughly 90 °C. Aramid does not melt — it carbonises above roughly    400 °C — and it is inherently flame retardant and self-extinguishing. Keep the belt clear    of direct contact with molten metal and open flame, and tell us your working temperature so we can add a    protective sleeve where it is needed.

Are aramid webbing slings cut resistant?

Yes. Aramid has excellent cut and abrasion resistance, far better than polyester or nylon, which is why    it is used on steel, plate, castings, scrap and hot metal where the belt is dragged across sharp edges.    Where edges are very sharp or very hot we can add a leather or aramid protective sleeve.

Is the belt soft enough not to damage the load?

Yes. It is a soft, pliable textile belt with no metal fittings, so there are no hard spots to scratch,    dent or mark machined, painted or polished surfaces, and the belt wraps tightly around awkward and    irregular shapes.

What working load limits and lengths can you supply?

Standard capacities from 1 t to 10 t at a 7:1 safety factor, plus higher capacities, intermediate    capacities and custom lengths and widths to order. Tell us the working load limit, effective length,    hitch type and working temperature and we will confirm the belt width and the label.

How should an aramid sling be stored and inspected?

Store it clean and dry, away from heat sources and chemicals, and protect aramid webbing from prolonged    direct sunlight because UV degrades the fibre. Inspect it before every lift for cuts, abrasion, heat    damage, chemical damage, pulled yarns and a missing or illegible label, and keep a written inspection    record.

Care, inspection and safe use

  • Inspect the belt before every lift: cuts, abrasion, broken or pulled yarns, charring or glazing from heat, chemical damage and a missing or illegible label.

  • Protect the belt from sharp and hot edges with a sleeve or a corner protector, and never drag a load over the belt.

  • Do not exceed the working load limit, and remember that capacity falls in choker and multi-leg configurations.

  • Keep the belt clear of molten metal splash, open flame and hot surfaces above its rated temperature.

  • Store clean and dry, out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources and chemicals.

  • Wash only with clean water and a mild detergent; never machine wash or tumble dry.

  • Retire the belt immediately if the label is missing, if the webbing is cut, charred or badly abraded, or if the belt has been overloaded or shock loaded.

Request an aramid sling belt quotation

Tell us the working load limit, effective length, hitch type and the working temperature, and we will    come back with the right belt width, the weight and a factory direct price. Custom lengths, printed    logos, protective sleeves and test certificates are all part of the service.
