When a disposable lifting belt has sharp edges on the lifted object, these sharp edges can cause destructive cuts to the lifting belt. To protect the lifting belt from cuts, a protective lining can be placed between the lifting belt and the lifted object. Exposure to continuous ultraviolet light can damage the strength of synthetic fiber suspension straps. Disposable lifting straps are made of synthetic fibers woven in one go, and even small cuts can pose safety hazards during lifting. The lifting belt has been chemically corroded.
